Edited by: Елена 11

Jakarta has solidified its position as Southeast Asia's leading culinary destination in 2025, a city where traditional flavors and innovative gastronomic experiences converge. The metropolis boasts a rich culinary heritage, reflecting its multicultural identity.

Globally recognized for its exceptional food scene, Jakarta was named the Best Culinary City in Southeast Asia by the TasteAtlas Awards in 2024, securing 16th place worldwide with a score of 4.69 out of 5. This accolade highlights the city's diverse offerings, from Indonesian staples like nasi uduk and soto Betawi to a wide array of international cuisines.

The city's commitment to its culinary landscape is evident in its events. The 14th Salon Culinaire 2025, held from July 22-25, showcased top chefs and culinary innovators. Concurrently, the Bali Interfood 2025 exhibition from September 10-12 presented the latest food and beverage innovations. Further cementing its status, Jakarta was ranked 10th in Time Out's list of the world's best cities for culinary tourism in August 2025. The annual Jakarta Fashion & Food Festival also immerses visitors in a celebration of style and taste.

New culinary hotspots are continuously reshaping Jakarta's gastronomic map. The revitalized Blok M area, now known as Blok M Hub since its May 25, 2025 reopening, has rapidly become a thriving culinary center. This district is supported by initiatives like GoFood and Feastin's "Food Guide: Blok M dan Sekitarnya," launched on July 24, featuring 100 curated eateries.

Jakarta's 2025 culinary evolution is a compelling narrative of heritage meeting innovation, drawing food enthusiasts globally with its blend of traditional tastes and contemporary artistry.
