The IX Conference on Strategies for Innovation in Teaching Analytical Chemistry took place at the University of Castilla-La Mancha (UCLM) in Toledo, Spain, on June 25-26, 2025. The event brought together 120 participants from around thirty universities and research centers across Spain.
Organized in collaboration with the Spanish Society of Analytical Chemistry (SEQA), the conference featured Zoltán Mester, Secretary General of the International Union of Pure and Applied Chemistry (IUPAC). Mester's research focuses on analytical mass spectrometry, sample preparation, and metrology in chemistry. He has published over 250 peer-reviewed articles and has been a speaker at numerous international conferences.
The conference program included invited lectures, a workshop, a round table, oral presentations, and poster sessions. Key topics included the use of generative AI in university teaching and the global landscape of analytical chemistry education. A round table discussed updates to the Core Chemistry-Eurobachelor label. The event provided a platform for sharing knowledge and experiences in teaching innovation within analytical chemistry, fostering collaboration between academic institutions and industry professionals.
