NASA and Blue Abyss have partnered to build the world's deepest pool in Cornwall, UK, for astronaut training and research. The pool, named Blue Abyss, will be used to simulate the conditions of space, allowing astronauts to practice tasks and procedures in a controlled environment.

The agreement was signed by NASA's Glenn Research Center and Blue Abyss, a private company that specializes in underwater training and research. The pool will be located at the Aerohub Enterprise Zone of Cornwall Airport, Newquay.

Blue Abyss will be used to test operations that will take place in the most extreme environments on Earth, from the depths of the ocean to the frontiers of space. The pool will also be used for training astronauts and other space professionals in areas such as neutral buoyancy, gravity, and psychological resilience.
