As winter blankets Türkiye, the renowned Kartalkaya Ski Resort has officially opened its doors for the ski season, welcoming enthusiasts to its pristine slopes. Located at an altitude of 2,200 meters in the Köroğlu Mountains, the resort is a prime destination for both local and international travelers seeking a winter getaway.
During the recent weekend, eager skiers flocked to the resort, taking full advantage of the nearly one meter of snow that has accumulated thanks to both natural snowfall and artificial snowmaking. With temperatures fluctuating around freezing, the resort's state-of-the-art snow production equipment ensures that the slopes remain in excellent condition, promising a delightful skiing experience.
Yusuf Avcı, the General Manager of the hotel at Kartalkaya, expressed his excitement about the season, stating, “We entered the season with a bang. This is the best snowfall we’ve seen in the last 20 years. All of our slopes are open, and we are continuously preparing them for our guests.” Avcı also noted that the snow depth is expected to increase to 1.5 meters in the coming week, making the conditions even more favorable for skiing.
One of the unique aspects of Kartalkaya is its geographical location, nestled in a forest that shields it from harsh winds. This, combined with its proximity to major cities like Istanbul and Ankara, makes it easily accessible for visitors. The resort’s long, high-quality slopes and excellent services further enhance its appeal, creating an inviting atmosphere for all who venture there.
As the season progresses, Kartalkaya promises to deliver not just stunning skiing conditions but also a memorable experience for its guests, ensuring that this winter is one to remember.
