Oscar-winning director Christopher Nolan is set to take audiences on a journey to mythical Greece with his latest project, a cinematic adaptation of The Odyssey. Universal Pictures announced this week that the film will explore the legendary tale of Odysseus' ten-year journey home following the Trojan War.

Described as "a mythic action epic shot across the world using brand new IMAX film technology," the film aims to bring Homer's foundational saga to IMAX screens for the first time. It is scheduled to hit theaters on July 17, 2026.

Star-studded cast members include Zendaya, Tom Holland, Robert Pattinson, and Oscar-winners Matt Damon, Lupita Nyong'o, Anne Hathaway, and Charlize Theron. Holland recently shared on The Dish podcast that filming has yet to begin, but he is excited about Nolan's vision for the project.

With a history of directing epic films like Inception, Dunkirk, and Oppenheimer, Nolan's adaptation promises to be a significant addition to the cinematic landscape, blending mythology with cutting-edge technology.
