In León, Guanajuato, Mexico, over 600 trees were planted in a "mini-forest" using the Miyawaki method, aiming to boost biodiversity and improve the urban environment.
This initiative, spearheaded by the Asociación Leonesa Artículo Cuarto A.C., involved planting various native species close together to create a dense, fast-growing forest.
The Miyawaki method, known for its rapid growth and density, promotes a self-sustaining ecosystem that enhances temperature regulation and supports local fauna.
The project, located near the San Juan de los Lagos temple, is expected to grow up to 10 times faster and be 30 times denser than traditional reforestation methods.
This approach addresses the challenges of post-planting care and aims to transform the way reforestation is done in León.
