ACT Training, the largest training provider in Wales, continues its innovative approach by partnering with Virtus Tech to integrate virtual reality (VR) into the Jobs Growth Wales+ (JGW+) program in 2025. Virtus Tech, a Cardiff-based VR company, specializes in creating immersive VR training solutions that simulate real-world scenarios, offering young people practical skills development and enhanced work-based learning experiences.
The collaboration's initial VR scenario features a virtual salon, allowing learners to practice hair consultations with simulated customers. Using 3D models, learners can explore hairstyles and beauty treatments, refining their communication and technical abilities. This initiative builds upon ACT's ongoing commitment to incorporating advanced technology into its curriculum.
ACT Training aims to redefine vocational and personal development skills through immersive technology and challenge-based learning, empowering young people to take control of their futures. The Jobs Growth Wales+ program is designed for individuals aged 16-19 who are not currently in employment, education, or training, providing them with pathways to apprenticeships, further education, or employment.
