Ricardo Sandoval Garza, the Director of Institutional Relations at Grupo Industrial Saltillo, has highlighted the transformative role of Artificial Intelligence (AI) in enhancing industrial processes. Contrary to fears of massive job losses, he emphasizes that AI is being utilized to optimize operations rather than replace human labor.

According to Garza, AI is already integrated into the manufacturing sector, marking the onset of Industry 4.0, which is characterized by the Internet of Things (IoT) and automation. This technology aids in monitoring quality, ensuring compliance with production standards, and improving overall productivity.

While some operational roles may be streamlined, the demand for specialized personnel will increase, as companies will need skilled workers to manage AI systems and make critical decisions. Garza notes that the automotive industry in Mexico is at the forefront of this transition, necessitating advanced automation to maintain competitiveness.

As the region evolves from traditional assembly work to more complex manufacturing, there is a growing need for technically skilled professionals who can program machines and leverage AI effectively. This shift not only enhances productivity but also positions the industry for future growth.
