Significant Snowfall in Minnesota, December 2, 2024

The National Weather Service reported notable snowfall across central and southern Minnesota, with many communities receiving approximately one inch, while some areas experienced slightly higher totals.

In contrast, North Dakota and South Dakota recorded heavier snowfall, with totals reaching four to five inches in some regions.

Top snowfall measurements in Minnesota include:

  • Vineland - 1.5 inches

  • Moorhead - 1.2 inches

  • Lamberton - 1.2 inches

  • Watson - 1.1 inches

  • Starbuck - 1 inch

  • Little Falls - 1 inch

  • Kimball - 1 inch

  • St. Cloud - 1 inch

As of this date, St. Cloud has accumulated approximately 5.8 inches of snow for the season, which remains 2.4 inches below the normal average.

Additionally, the Minnesota State Patrol reported responding to 177 crashes statewide between midnight and 10:30 a.m. on Monday, resulting in injuries to fifteen individuals. An additional 39 vehicles spun out and required assistance after going into the ditch.
