Microsoft Emphasizes AI Growth and Responsibility in India

New Delhi, Nov 3 - Microsoft India President Puneet Chandok announced that technology spending in India remains robust, driven by the adoption of AI and its Copilot feature. He noted a shift in perception towards AI, moving from skepticism to optimism, with real-world applications emerging across various sectors.

Chandok emphasized Microsoft's commitment to responsible AI development, stating, "Technologies that change the world have to be built responsibly." He highlighted the company's efforts to comply with regulatory requirements and frameworks.

Microsoft aims to train 2 million people in AI skills through its ADVANTA(I)GE INDIA program over the next two years, alongside initiatives to support women developers. Chandok described India as a rapidly growing market for Microsoft, citing a strong demand for technology solutions.

With over 15 million developers on GitHub, India is poised to become a leading hub for AI talent, contributing significantly to the global workforce. Chandok noted that AI is also helping bridge the digital divide by promoting local languages.

He concluded by reaffirming the importance of security in technology development, stating, "Security is job number one, above everything else."
