The Light Of Day benefit concert, dedicated to raising funds for Parkinson’s disease research, celebrated its 25th anniversary on January 18, 2025. The highlight of the evening was a surprise appearance by Bruce Springsteen, which added a special significance to the event.

The concert featured performances by Jesse Malin, Willie Nile, and Joe Grushecky, creating an inspiring atmosphere of unity and purpose. For Jesse Malin, the evening was particularly meaningful, marking one of his first performances since suffering a spinal stroke in 2023 that left him partially paralyzed. Malin announced Springsteen’s appearance, and together they performed their 2007 collaboration 'Broken Radio'.

Springsteen's involvement didn’t stop there—he joined Willie Nile for 'One Guitar' and performed alongside Joe Grushecky and the Houserockers on 'Never Be Enough Time'. His setlist also included classic hits like 'Darkness On The Edge of Town', 'The Promised Land', 'Pink Cadillac', and the event’s namesake song 'Light Of Day', originally written for Joan Jett.

Following this unforgettable evening, Bruce Springsteen is set to resume his world tour with The E Street Band in July 2025, with shows planned across the UK and Europe. Additionally, he is involved in the production of the biographical film 'Deliver Me From Nowhere', which will focus on his early career and the recording of his iconic album 'Nebraska'. The film is expected to be released later in 2025.
