Dutch fashion retailer Omoda has announced a strategic partnership with Google Cloud to enhance its online shopping platform through advanced artificial intelligence (AI) technologies. This collaboration introduces the AI-powered chatbot, Omoda Stylist, which transforms the online shopping experience by suggesting complete outfit combinations rather than individual items.
Utilizing Google Cloud's Vertex AI framework, Omoda has implemented vector search technology and Gemini models to create a shopping experience reminiscent of having a personal stylist. Customers can engage in conversational searches, specifying desired looks such as 'bohemian wedding outfit' or 'smart casual workwear,' and receive tailored recommendations that align with their style preferences, body shapes, and favored brands.
This innovative approach not only enhances product discoverability but also provides deeper insights into style compatibility, sizing, and appropriate occasions. Preliminary testing indicates that the introduction of the Discover the Look feature has led to conversion rates 2.5 times higher than traditional interactions.
Omoda's data management system, supported by Google Cloud's BigQuery and Looker Studio, ensures organized access to data that aids in AI-driven recommendations and analytics. While the conversational search feature is already live, Omoda plans to introduce additional enhancements, including avatar-based outfit previews and wardrobe integrations.
Omoda's CTO, Ewoud Friedlink, expressed that this collaboration represents a significant step towards achieving a vision of delivering the warmth and personalization of boutique shopping in the online realm. By the end of 2024, it is anticipated that 90% of product content, including descriptions and recommendations, will be generated by AI.
