London Art Fair 2025: A Global Showcase of Contemporary and Modern Art

15:39, 22 gennaio

Modificato da: Irena I

The London Art Fair, now in its 37th edition, is taking place from January 22 to 26, 2025, at the Business Design Centre in London. This year's fair continues to emphasize modern art while expanding its focus on contemporary works and emerging artists, featuring over 130 galleries, including 18 international participants from countries such as the Czech Republic, France, and Japan.

A notable highlight of the fair is its partnership with the Sainsbury Centre, which presents a unique 'Living Art' experience. This innovative approach allows visitors to engage with art as living entities, showcasing iconic pieces from renowned artists like Francis Bacon and Pablo Picasso, while inviting attendees to step inside an interactive display.

The fair's Platform section, curated by Becca Pelly-Fry, addresses the interconnectedness of human society and nature. Artists such as Temsuyanger Longkumer and Abigail Lane present works that reflect themes of ecological awareness and cultural heritage. Longkumer's new terracotta relief sculpture, 'Reflections II', and Lane's surreal installation featuring a headless torso, both emphasize a deep respect for nature.

Additionally, Antonio Pichillá Quiacaín explores Mayan heritage through textile art, while Poppy Lennox's 'Energy Lines' series delves into spirituality and our relationship with the natural world. Ram Dongre's large-scale paintings draw from Indian mythology, merging ancient traditions with contemporary narratives.

The fair also features Erum Aamir's delicate porcelain sculptures inspired by microscopic patterns in nature, and Abigail Norris's 'Scrying' series, which reflects her deep connection to ancient trees. These diverse artistic expressions underscore the fair's commitment to showcasing significant global art trends and fostering dialogue around ecological and cultural themes.
