Metaplanet Increases Bitcoin Holdings to 2,100 BTC, Targets 10,000 BTC by 2025

Tokyo-based investment firm Metaplanet announced on Thursday it acquired an additional 68 BTC for $6.6 million, increasing its total holdings to 2,100 BTC, valued at $203 million. The firm, which began its Bitcoin strategy in April 2024, aims to accumulate 10,000 BTC by the end of 2025 and 21,000 BTC by the end of 2026. Metaplanet's stock rose 2.78% on Thursday, reflecting positive market sentiment towards its Bitcoin strategy. The company currently holds about 0.01% of the total bitcoin supply.
