LG Electronics recently presented a series of artificial intelligence (AI)-powered smart home solutions specifically engineered for the Middle East and Africa (MEA) markets. The unveiling occurred at the LG InnoFest 2026 MEA, held in Abu Dhabi from February 3 to 5. This event, marking the return of InnoFest after a seven-year interval, underscored the company's sustained commitment to the region under the theme, “Innovation, Forward Together.” The portfolio showcased advancements across clothing care, kitchen, built-in appliances, and comprehensive cleaning solutions, emphasizing user-centric design and regional relevance.

In the clothing care sector, LG is integrating its proprietary AI Core-Tech, an evolution of its core component innovation since 1998, to deliver smarter and more efficient washing and drying experiences via AI Wash and AI Dry features. The showcase featured the award-winning 29-inch LG SIGNATURE WashCombo™, an all-in-one washer-dryer claimed to possess the world's largest capacity. Furthermore, LG introduced a new 25-inch WashTower™ model, expanding the existing 24-inch and 27-inch options to offer broader installation flexibility. The newly debuted 27-inch model is suited for larger households, featuring a 25-kilogram washing capacity and a 21-kilogram drying capacity, supported by DUAL Inverter HeatPump™ technology for enhanced energy efficiency.

Kitchen innovations centered on integrated aesthetics with the 'Fit & Max' concept, merging seamless built-in design with intelligent functionality. The LG InstaView™ French Door refrigerator stood out with its Zero Clearance hinge, allowing flush installation, and AI Fresh technology, which automatically adjusts cooling based on usage patterns. The Microwave Oven SolarDOM™ All-in-One underwent its first full design overhaul in over a decade, replacing physical buttons with a 2.4-inch LCD interface and incorporating Air Fry functionality, aligning with LG's vision for a "Zero Labor Home" in the region. The SolarDOM™'s Bottom Grill heating technology is designed to replicate true oven quality through heat from below and behind.

For dishwashing tasks, the latest LG dishwasher lineup incorporates enhanced QuadWash® Pro technology, utilizing micro-air bubble jets for improved cleaning performance. The embedded AI SenseClean technology enables automatic adjustment of wash time and rinse cycles based on contamination levels to ensure optimal results. Based on available data, the combination of QuadWash® Pro and Dynamic Heat Dry™ can achieve a full wash-dry cycle in approximately 39 minutes.

LG is also advancing its smart home ecosystem through the ThinQ ON Hub platform, which employs generative AI to process natural language commands contextually. This allows users to control laundry cycles and set reminders via voice interaction. Additionally, IoT sensors installed throughout the demonstration space can automate home functions, such as turning off lights upon occupant departure to conserve power. LG intends to accelerate its B2B smart home expansion in the Middle East, specifically targeting hotels and apartments with optimized space solutions.
