LG Electronics Unveils AI-Enhanced Appliance Lineup for Middle East and Africa
Edited by: Olga Samsonova
LG Electronics recently introduced a comprehensive portfolio of artificial intelligence-enabled domestic appliances tailored for the Middle East and Africa (MEA) market during the LG InnoFest event held in Abu Dhabi. This strategic launch underscores the company's commitment to integrating advanced, localized technology into regional households, aiming to address specific consumer needs across the MEA geography beyond standard product offerings.
The company's stated vision centers on establishing a "Zero Labor Home" environment, a concept that utilizes automation and intelligence to substantially decrease the time and effort associated with routine household maintenance across the region. Key to this rollout is the AI Core-Tech system for clothing care, which is designed to facilitate more efficient washing and drying cycles. A specific highlight in this segment is the 29-inch WashCombo™ unit, which reportedly features the largest capacity globally for its appliance class, a feature relevant to the larger household sizes prevalent in the MEA area.
In kitchen technology, LG emphasized seamless integration and design through its built-in appliance collection. Refrigerators now incorporate AI Fresh technology, intended to optimize food preservation based on usage patterns and contents to minimize spoilage. This is complemented by the redesigned SolarDOM™ All-in-One Microwave Oven, which features an LCD interface and expanded Auto Cook menus tailored for diverse regional cuisines. This focus on built-in aesthetics aligns with current architectural preferences for integrated living spaces within the Gulf Cooperation Council (GCC) nations.
Dishwashing capabilities have advanced with the integration of the QuadWash™ Pro system and the new AI SenseClean feature. This combination enables appliances to complete a full wash-and-dry cycle in as little as 39 minutes under specific conditions. The built-in collection also supports efficiency goals with larger capacity refrigerators and the Inverter ProBake™ oven, which is engineered for faster, more uniform heat distribution. The InnoFest showcase confirmed LG's positioning of AI as a fundamental utility for modern living across the diverse economies of Africa and the Middle East, signaling an investment in elevating domestic standards throughout the territory.
