October 15, 2024 - In a recent interview, Uber CEO Dara Khosrowshahi expressed interest in partnering with Tesla to integrate the newly unveiled Cybercab Robotaxi into Uber's ride-sharing platform.
Tesla introduced the Cybercab, a self-driving vehicle designed for ride-hailing, during its recent event. Khosrowshahi noted the existing relationship between the two companies, mentioning that Tesla has already integrated Uber services into some of its vehicles.
Khosrowshahi stated, "We'd love to have [the Cybercab Robotaxi] on the platform," while emphasizing the importance of collaboration within the autonomous vehicle industry. He acknowledged the challenges of competing with Elon Musk but expressed optimism about a potential partnership.
He also highlighted Uber's extensive experience in the ride-sharing sector, having invested significant resources over the past 15 years. Khosrowshahi believes that Tesla could leverage Uber's established infrastructure to accelerate the Cybercab's deployment.
