New Archaeological Site Declared in Peru

Peru's Ministry of Culture has officially declared the Huacán Archaeological Site as a pre-Hispanic cultural heritage property. This designation, announced on December 19, 2024, is based on a technical report from the Directorate of Cadastre and Legal Physical Sanitation.

The site, covering an area of 31,288.67 square meters with a perimeter of 746.70 meters, is significant for its association with the Yaro society. It features semicircular and quadrangular structures that highlight its architectural importance and archaeological value.

The recognition aims to ensure the preservation, conservation, and safeguarding of this important historical site.
