Netherlands to increase green investments in 2025

Edited by: S Света

The Netherlands is set to increase its green investments in 2025, continuing a trend of prioritizing environmental protection and sustainable economic practices. This initiative involves policy development, such as energy labels for homes and specific environmental taxes, aimed at fostering a greener economy. Dutch companies are increasing their spending on activities dedicated to protecting, restoring, or improving the environment. These investments include measures for better air quality and cleaner energy, such as wind turbines and solar panels. The share of environmental investments out of total investments rose from just over 4% in 2011 to over 14% in 2022, with companies spending 2.1 billion euros on environmental investments that year. Looking ahead to 2025, the Netherlands is expected to continue this upward trajectory. The government will likely implement further policies to encourage environmental responsibility and sustainable practices. This will involve a combination of environmental taxes, subsidies, and regulations to promote a greener economy.
