Harvard Prevails in Initial Legal Battle Against US Government

Edited by: Irina Davgaleva

Harvard University has won a preliminary injunction against the US Department of Homeland Security. The decision temporarily suspends the department's policy restricting international student enrollment.

Judge Allison Burroughs of the federal court in Massachusetts deemed the policy likely unconstitutional. This ruling came shortly after Harvard filed a lawsuit against the US government.

Alan Garber, president of Harvard, criticized the government's actions as illegal and unjustified. He stated that it endangers the future of thousands of students and academics at Harvard.
