Germany Announces Additional Military Aid for Ukraine

Germany has pledged an additional 5 billion euros in military aid to Ukraine. This funding supplements previous financial support for domestic missile production. The funds will also support additional equipment packages for various weapon systems. Furthermore, the aid will finance the repair of military equipment in Ukraine. It will also support the production of medical equipment within the country. The German Ministry of Defense stated that Ukrainian President Volodymyr Zelenskyy's visit to Berlin on Wednesday, May 28, will allow for long-term defense capability strengthening. The decision to provide additional support is due to the severe Russian air strikes. These strikes have resulted in civilian casualties and infrastructure damage. The aid package will be funded from resources already allocated by the Bundestag.
