Edited by: S Света

Japan is urging the United States to review its tariff measures, despite a temporary pause on higher tariffs for some trade partners. Economic Revitalization Minister Ryosei Akazawa affirmed that Japan's policy remains unchanged, as the country seeks to protect its export-driven economy. Tokyo is expected to be a priority in trade negotiations with Washington. US Treasury Secretary Scott Bessent plans to engage with officials from Japan, Vietnam, India, and South Korea regarding trade issues. Vietnam's Deputy Prime Minister Ho Duc Phoc met with US Trade Representative Jamieson Greer to initiate negotiations on a reciprocal trade agreement. Both sides agreed to begin discussions immediately, focusing on tariffs and minimizing non-tariff barriers. New Zealand Prime Minister Christopher Luxon is proposing a rules-based trading bloc, potentially involving the CPTPP and the European Union, in response to US tariffs. Luxon is scheduled to speak with world leaders to promote free trade and explore ways to strengthen the global trading system.
