Podgorica, February 24, 2025 - A meeting was held in Podgorica between Prime Minister Milojko Spajić, leader of the ruling Europe Now Movement (PES), and the presidents of opposition parties Democratic Party of Socialists (DPS), Danijel Živković, and Social Democrats (SD), Damir Šehović, to discuss resolving the political crisis stemming from events within the Constitutional Court. The meeting was hosted by the Head of the European Union Delegation to Montenegro, Johan Satler. The opposition contends that the Constitution was violated when Parliament decided in December to terminate Dragana Đuranović's judicial function without notifying the Constitutional Court. Satler has urged the government and opposition to address the crisis by consulting the Venice Commission, aiming for the opposition's return to Parliament next month.
