Russia Attacks kyiv with Ballistic Missiles and Drones on May 24

Russian forces attacked Kyiv with ballistic missiles and drones on the night of Saturday, May 24. According to Mayor Vitali Klitschko, air defense systems were actively engaged in Kyiv and the surrounding region. Initial reports indicate eight casualties in Kyiv. Two individuals were hospitalized in the Dnipro district, while four others received on-site assistance in the Svyatoshynskyi district. Debris was reported in five districts of the capital: Solomenskyi, Svyatoshynskyi, Dniprovskyi, Obolonskyi, and Shevchenkivskyi. In the Obolonskyi district, debris fell on a shopping center, causing a fire in a residential building in Obolon. An air alert was declared in Kyiv on the evening of May 23 due to the threat of drones and ballistic missiles. The Air Force reported launches of ballistic missiles towards Kyiv. Following midnight on May 24, Mayor Klitschko reported approximately 20 drones heading towards Kyiv.
