Manila, May 29 - The Philippine Foreign Ministry stated on Thursday that China has no right to object to the Philippines' activities in the South China Sea. These activities are described as lawful and routine.
The ministry also announced that it "rejects and refutes" statements made by the Chinese embassy spokesperson in Manila. The statements asserted Beijing's indisputable sovereignty over the Spratly Islands.
The Philippines continues to assert its rights within its internationally recognized maritime zones. Tensions remain high in the region over competing territorial claims.
