Europe Grapples With Record-Breaking Heatwave

Edited by: S Света

Several European countries are experiencing an unprecedented heatwave as of July 2, 2025. Southern Spain has recorded temperatures reaching 40°C (104°F), while Paris is experiencing temperatures around 35°C (95°F).

The extreme heat has caused significant disruptions. Over 1,350 schools have closed in France, and the province of Huelva in Spain recorded a record-high temperature of 46°C (114.8°F). The Wimbledon tennis tournament in London is also facing challenges.

Businesses are also feeling the impact. UK bakery chain Greggs issued a profit warning due to reduced foot traffic. Authorities are urging residents to stay hydrated and limit outdoor activities, with a focus on vulnerable populations.
