Norway Hosts Informal Talks to Advance Global Plastic Pollution Treaty Negotiations

Oslo, Norway hosted informal talks on Monday and Tuesday, with over a dozen countries participating. The discussions, organized by Norway, focused on overcoming obstacles in negotiations for a global treaty addressing plastic pollution. Participants included China, Brazil, Colombia, Egypt, France, Indonesia, Japan, and the European Union. India, Iraq, and Saudi Arabia were invited but did not attend. Scientists warn of significant public health consequences if plastic pollution remains unchecked.
