NASA astronaut Don Pettit has shared a striking long-exposure photograph taken from the International Space Station (ISS), offering a unique perspective on Earth and the growing presence of human technology in orbit. The image captures the illuminated patterns of Earth's cities, the ethereal trails of distant stars, and the distinct lines of SpaceX's Starlink satellites.

The photograph displays the warm, golden hues of urban landscapes on Earth's surface as curved lines. Interspersed are brighter, whiter lines, representing star trajectories affected by the ISS's rapid orbital motion. Horizontal streaks on the right side of the frame identify several Starlink satellites.
