June 13, 2025, New Mexico, USA - Meta has partnered with XGS Energy to develop 150 megawatts of advanced geothermal power.
The project aims to support Meta's growing artificial intelligence operations and is slated for completion by the end of the decade.
The technology utilizes next-generation geothermal methods that don't depend on natural water sources and produce zero carbon emissions. This project represents approximately 4% of the current U.S. geothermal output.
