Hotel Indalo Park in Santa Susanna, Barcelona, has deployed an advanced Energy Management System (EMS) to optimize energy use based on real-time guest demand.
The EMS manages HVAC, DHW, and refrigeration units, adjusting energy consumption based on actual needs.
The hotel expects a 30% reduction in energy consumption, saving 247,905 kWh annually and decreasing CO₂ emissions by 66,934 kg.
This translates to annual savings of €37,904. The project is funded by the Ministry of Industry and Tourism and supported by the EU's Next Generation funds.
This initiative addresses the tourism sector's impact on climate change, which accounts for approximately 8% of global greenhouse gas emissions.
