Lagos State Unifies Energy Policies for Sustainable Power Solutions

Date: Recent. Location: Lagos, Nigeria. The Lagos State Government is consolidating its energy policies into an integrated electricity strategy to enhance power management and accelerate development.

The revised Integrated Resource and Strategic Plan aims to reposition Lagos as a hub for sustainable power solutions. A memorandum of understanding (MoU) was signed with the Federal Government to improve electricity access in underserved areas.

The state replaced 22,000 old public lighting systems with smart solar-powered street lights. The Lagos Electricity Market (LEM) will soon be inaugurated to support embedded generation, smart grid deployment, and consumer protection.

65 vehicles were converted to run on Compressed Natural Gas. IBILE Oil and Gas sold over 100 million litres of petrol and 9.6 million kilogrammes of liquefied petroleum gas in the last year, showing a commitment to cleaner energy.
