London, United Kingdom (06 June 2025) - TGS has begun a geophysical survey for the Green Volt floating offshore wind farm.
The survey, initiated in Aberdeen, will use ultra-high resolution 3D (UHR3D) seismic technology to gather detailed subsurface data.
The 560 MW Green Volt project, a joint venture by Flotation Energy and Vårgrønn, is Europe's first commercial-scale floating wind farm.
The survey will utilize integrated sensors including Multibeam Echo Sounder, Side Scan Sonar, and Magnetometer to enhance geological understanding.
UHR3D data will help identify geological hazards and structural complexities, improving site assessment and risk mitigation.
This project supports the UK's floating wind supply chain and contributes to the country's net-zero targets.
