May 23, 2025, Hamburg, Germany - 1KOMMA5°'s Heartbeat AI manages 500 MW of flexibility capacities, becoming Europe's largest virtual power plant (VPP) for private households. This VPP can cover the base load of over one million homes. The company connects around 50,000 decentralized energy systems across Germany, Denmark, Sweden, and the Netherlands.

These systems, including solar panels, battery storage, and heat pumps, have saved households €36.6 million in electricity costs. 1KOMMA5° plans to expand Heartbeat AI to over 16 million homes in Germany. By 2030, the company aims to provide a total capacity of 20 GW in its virtual power plant.

Studies show that household flexibility, such as battery storage and heat pumps, can save up to €8 billion annually in system costs. Heartbeat AI purchases excess wind and solar power at low prices, intelligently managing connected systems. This can reduce household electricity costs to as low as 7 ct/kWh while stabilizing the grid during high production phases.
