China Energy Engineering Corp Expands Green Hydrogen and AI Initiatives, Investing Billions in Global Energy Transition

Beijing, March 27, 2025 — China Energy Engineering Corporation Ltd (CEEC) is intensifying its focus on green hydrogen and artificial intelligence to propel the global energy transition. The CEO of CEEC has announced plans to expand its comprehensive renewable energy solutions, encompassing hydrogen and storage.

A significant project for the production of green hydrogen, ammonia, and methanol in Songyuan, Jilin Province is set to commence operations in September.

CEEC has secured investments exceeding 110 billion Yuan (approximately $15.3 billion) domestically and $11.8 billion abroad, with projects in China, Egypt, Morocco, and Central Asia. Its domestic capacity for green hydrogen and aviation fuel exceeds 1.35 million metric tons, while its overseas capacity for hydrogen and ammonia production has reached 2.6 million tons.

The company is also integrating artificial intelligence into energy systems to address the growing demand for electricity from data centers and fifth-generation (5G) base stations.

Nearly half of all contracts signed by CEEC are for renewable energy projects abroad.
