Berlin is testing an autonomous cleaning robot in Spreebogenpark.
The robot, developed by the Berlin Stadtreinigung (BSR), removes litter like cigarette butts and bottle caps.
This project is part of the ROKIT research initiative from the Technical University of Berlin (TU Berlin).
ROKIT, coordinated by HFC Human-Factors-Consult GmbH, explores the ethical implications of human-robot interaction in public spaces.
The project, funded by the Federal Ministry of Education and Research, will run until 2025.
Field tests have been conducted, including one in Magdeburg to study human-machine interaction on a campus.
