Edited by: Tetiana Pinchuk Pinchuk

Gotion Power Morocco, a subsidiary of Gotion High Tech, will soon begin constructing its electric battery gigafactory in Kénitra, Morocco.

The project represents a $6.5 billion investment, supported by the Moroccan government. The first phase, estimated at $1.3 billion, will equip the factory with a 20 GW capacity, aiming for 40 GW eventually.

Production, including cathodes and anodes, is expected by the third quarter of 2026. The factory will primarily export to Europe, strengthening Morocco's ambition to become an electromobility hub.
