BYD has launched the Dolphin Surf, a new compact EV, in select Western European markets. This model is a modified version of the Chinese Seagull.
The European Dolphin Surf is larger than its Chinese counterpart, measuring 3,990 mm in length compared to the Seagull's 3,780 mm. It features different bumpers while maintaining a 2,500 mm wheelbase.
The European version offers increased power, with the top-end model boasting a 115 kW motor, a 109% increase from the Chinese version's 55 kW. It also features improved charging capabilities, including 11 kW three-phase AC charging and up to 80 kW DC charging.
Prices start at 22,390 EUR, with an introductory price of 19,990 EUR available until the end of June. The Dolphin Surf is positioned as one of the most affordable EVs in Europe.
