BYD plans to begin expanding its production in Hungary by the end of 2025, with the first models to be manufactured being the Dolphin and Atto 3.
The Szeged factory is still under construction, and vehicles produced there will be exempt from tariffs imposed on electric vehicles imported from China to the European Union.
BYD has been the best-selling automotive brand in China for two consecutive years, dominating the world's largest automotive market.
