London, UK - At the opening of London Tech Week, Keir Starmer emphasized the UK's commitment to placing artificial intelligence and technology at the forefront of its economic growth.
A new technology-focused education program will be launched, with a £185 million investment to provide AI skills to children and young people. Starmer also announced plans to train 7.5 million workers in AI by 2030, supported by tech companies including Nvidia.
The UK will also invest £1 billion to increase the country's computing capacity by 20 times. Starmer highlighted the relocation of the European headquarters of the technology company Liquidity to London, representing a £1.5 billion investment, which he described as a 'vote of confidence'.
Starmer noted the transformative impact of AI across various sectors, including healthcare and defense, and defined AI as a driving force in many industries.
