Amazon is set to invest $20 billion in an artificial intelligence data center in rural Pennsylvania, marking the largest corporate investment in the state's history.
The data center will be located in Salem Township and Falls Township, near Berwick. This investment is crucial for the global competition in artificial intelligence, requiring significant infrastructure, cloud computing, and power.
Amazon's Vice President of Public Policy, Shannon Kellogg, highlighted the importance of this investment. Amazon is also establishing a $250,000 fund to support local non-profits and is committed to workforce development programs.
The company aims to achieve a water-positive goal in every community by 2030, investing in water system upgrades as part of its infrastructure expansion.
