The feature, named 'reference saved memories,' allows ChatGPT to retain specific information shared during previous chats, such as user names, preferences, and relevant background details. This update follows Google's recent announcement of a similar memory feature for its AI model, Gemini, highlighting the growing competition among companies to advance AI technology. Initially, the memory feature will be available to ChatGPT Pro and Plus users in limited countries, including the European Union, Iceland, Liechtenstein, Norway, and Switzerland.
