Taylor Swift Regains Masters of First Six Albums in 2025

Edited by: Inna Horoshkina One

Taylor Swift has reacquired the masters of her first six albums, marking a victory in her fight for artist rights. The announcement was made on May 30, 2025. This acquisition concludes Swift's efforts to regain control over her early discography.

The masters include the albums 'Taylor Swift,' 'Fearless,' 'Speak Now,' 'Red,' '1989,' and 'Reputation.' They were previously owned by Scooter Braun's Ithaca Holdings and later sold to Shamrock Capital. Swift's move to re-record and release "Taylor's Version" of these albums was supported by her fans.

Swift expressed gratitude to her fans and Shamrock Capital for enabling her to purchase her music outright. She mentioned she has completely re-recorded her debut album and is working on 'Reputation (Taylor's Version)', with unreleased vault tracks planned.
