Robbie Williams is set to release his thirteenth studio album, "BRITPOP," on October 10, 2025. This album marks a significant return to the sounds of the 1990s Britpop era, a period Williams describes as a "golden age for British Music." He stated that he aimed to create the album he wished he had released after leaving Take That in 1995.
The album's lead single, "Rocket," featuring Tony Iommi of Black Sabbath, was released in May 2025. It debuted at number 34 on the UK Singles Downloads Chart and number 36 on the UK Singles Sales Chart. The second single, "Spies," was released on July 18, 2025, followed by "Human" on August 21, 2025, which features a collaboration with Mexican pop duo Jesse & Joy and reportedly touches on themes of artificial intelligence.
The "BRITPOP" album cover is a visual homage to Williams' iconic red tracksuit worn at the 1995 Glastonbury Festival. The Britpop movement, which peaked between 1993 and 1997, was characterized by bands like Oasis and Blur and revitalized British guitar music. Williams' "BRITPOP" tour commenced on May 31, 2025, in Edinburgh and is scheduled to conclude in Istanbul on October 7, 2025, covering the UK and Europe. A special intimate show is planned for Dingwalls in London on October 9, where Williams will perform both his debut solo album "Life Thru a Lens" and "BRITPOP" in its entirety.
This album represents a musical journey back in time for Williams, aiming to capture the raw energy and anthemic quality of the 90s while offering a contemporary perspective on the beloved musical era.
