Janet Jackson received the Icon Award at the 2025 American Music Awards, held on May 26 at the Fontainebleau Las Vegas. The award recognizes her undeniable cultural and global influence on the music industry.

Jackson's performance at the AMAs marked her first live television appearance in seven years. She performed a medley of her hits, including "Someone to Call My Lover" and "All for You." The performance included a dance break remix with a guitar solo.
