Ivor Novello Awards 2025: Charli XCX, U2, Robbie Williams Among Honorees

The Ivor Novello Awards celebrated its 70th year on May 22, 2025, at Grosvenor House in London, honoring exceptional songwriters and composers. The ceremony recognized 22 individuals across 14 categories, with a remarkable 73% of winners receiving their first Ivor Novello Award.

Charli XCX was named Songwriter of the Year, recognized for her groundbreaking songwriting on her 2024 album 'Brat'. U2 received the Fellowship of The Ivors Academy, making them the first Irish band to receive this honor. Robbie Williams was presented with the PRS for Music Icon Award, marking his fifth Ivor Novello Award.

Other notable winners included Berwyn for Best Album ('Who Am I'), Lola Young for the Rising Star Award, and Self Esteem for the Visionary Award. The awards celebrated both established icons and emerging talents in the songwriting and composing community.
