Ghanaian Highlife icon Akwaboah has released his new project, 'Live and Personal' on May 9, 2025. This nine-track live recording pays tribute to three generations of Akwaboah musicians.
'Live and Personal' is a personal exploration of melody and time. The project features timeless Highlife tunes and iconic songs from his father, Kwadwo Akwaboah, including 'Awerekyekyere'. It also includes some of Akwaboah's own hits.
The album celebrates love and relationships through Highlife instrumentation. Each track was recorded live, capturing the emotion and harmonies that define Akwaboah's style. Akwaboah describes the album as a homage to his musical heritage, blending his grandfather's soul, his father's genius, and his own journey.
