Edited by: Inna Horoshkina One

The BBC Symphony Orchestra's 2025 season includes a performance featuring Franz Schreker's Chamber Symphony and Mahler's Das Lied von der Erde. The event will take place at Barbican, London, with Sir Mark Elder conducting the orchestra.

Schreker's Chamber Symphony, composed in 1916 for 24 solo players, is structured as a single, continuously evolving movement, echoing traditional symphonic forms. Mahler's Das Lied von der Erde will follow, promising an intense interpretation.

Alice Coote and David Butt Philip are expected to perform as soloists. The performance is scheduled for May 23, 2025, at 19:30 in Hall, Barbican Centre. Sir Mark Elder, a legend among British musicians, will bring his experience to conduct the orchestra.
