Ty Segall has released the title track, "Possession," from his album 'Possession,' scheduled for release on May 30, 2025. This marks Segall's 16th studio album.
The track features a melodic vocal performance and a rolling groove, enhanced by brass instrumentation that builds upon its classic rock foundation. The lyrics to "Possession" were co-written by Matt Yoka, a frequent collaborator and filmmaker.
The song tells a fable that begins with the line, "A bible placed beside the butter by a farmer of misfortune in the winter." Segall had previously launched "Fantastic Tomb" as the album's lead single. The album will be available via Drag City.
