A new biography, 'Love, Freddie,' claims that Queen frontman Freddie Mercury secretly fathered a daughter in 1976. According to biographer Lesley-Ann Jones, Mercury had an affair with the wife of a close friend, resulting in the birth of a daughter he maintained a close relationship with until his death in 1991.

The biography alleges that Mercury entrusted his daughter with 17 personal journals shortly before his death. These journals, started when he learned of the pregnancy, detailed his life from his childhood in Zanzibar and India to his final months. The daughter, identified only as B. to protect her identity, reportedly provided these journals to Jones as the basis for the biography.

B., now 48 and working in healthcare in Europe, wishes to remain anonymous. She states in the biography that she shared a close and loving bond with her father from birth until his death. However, the claims are currently unverified, and other media and Mercury's close circle have yet to confirm the story.

Jones asserts that the daughter's story is credible due to the supporting evidence provided, including bank statements and personal letters. B. says she is coming forward to correct years of lies and speculation surrounding her father. She chose Jones because her previous book offered a more accurate portrayal of Mercury.

The British tabloids have reportedly begun searching for B.'s identity. However, she has stated that she will not speak to the press, wishing to protect her privacy. She believes she owes it to her father to cherish her privacy as one of life's most precious privileges.
