Dakota Johnson and Musician Role Model Confirm Relationship After Los Angeles Public Appearance
Edited by: Tatyana Hurynovich
Actress Dakota Johnson, 36, and 28-year-old musician Role Model (born Tucker Pillsbury) have officially gone public with their romantic status. The move comes following relationship rumors that have been swirling since late 2025.
The couple reached a turning point during a recent joint appearance in Los Angeles on April 3, 2026. Johnson and Pillsbury were spotted in the Los Feliz area showing public affection, including holding hands and kissing, after attending a Sir Paul McCartney concert. McCartney’s performance at The Fonda Theatre marked his first live show since wrapping his massive Got Back Tour in Chicago on November 25, 2025.
These public displays of affection, which included dinner with friends at Little Dom’s, signal that the relationship has moved from a private phase into a more open one. Previously, on December 29, 2025, the pair were seen enjoying a candlelit dinner with friends, where Johnson was reportedly very affectionate toward Pillsbury.
This new chapter for Johnson follows her mid-2025 split from Coldplay frontman Chris Martin after an eight-year relationship described as having "ups and downs." Sources close to the actress note that she finds her connection with Pillsbury to be "easy," and her mother, Melanie Griffith, has already given her public blessing, calling the musician "wonderful." Pillsbury was previously in a relationship with influencer Emma Chamberlain, which ended in late 2023.
Tucker Pillsbury, born May 15, 1997, has made a name for himself with his signature indie-pop and alternative sound. Having released his second studio album, "Kansas Anymore," in 2024, he is now set to make his acting debut in Lena Dunham’s upcoming romantic comedy "Good Sex." Johnson likewise has a packed schedule, including her role in the upcoming project "Verity." Their appearance at the exclusive McCartney event underscores the couple’s growing public presence, even as they navigate their demanding careers.
